His career reached its peak when he signed with the championship-winning Williams team for the 1989 season. Driving for Williams, Boutsen secured all three of his Formula 1 Grand Prix victories. He won again in Australia that same year and claimed his final victory from pole position at the 1990 Hungarian Grand Prix.
